Paramedic Program

VEMSA’s Paramedic Program

The Vermont EMS Academy Consortium for Paramedic Education (VEMSACPE) Program consists of a minimum 1200 hours of instruction, divided into three distinct semesters: theory/classroom instruction (600 hours), clinical internship (180 hours), and field internship (420 hours). Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic examination, which is required for paramedic licensure in the State of Vermont. The program’s cost is $14,800.

Why Become a Paramedic

  • High Industry placement rate: paramedics are in very high demand

  • Enter the field quickly: This program prepares you to take the National Registry EMT examination. After the successful completion of this exam, you’ll be ready to work as an EMT or paramedic.

  • Give Back to Your Community: EMTs and paramedics are often first to respond to accidents and crises and are a critical, life-saving link between the scene of an emergency and the healthcare system.
